WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT “THE GRATITUDE MUSIC TOUR FOR KIDS…
“My Daughter is still humming the “Thank you song”
Three months ago Joe Fred gave the Youth (0 to 10 year old) of the Unity of Madison the honor to have a guest appearance. Joe did a fantastic job combining singing, acupressure tapping, drawing, and puppetry in a fun and interactive way, lovingly persuading even reluctant children into participating in his gratitude music show. During the show each child received a colored happy button sticker, which my daughter (10 years old) wore proudly for days to come. And not only this, even after three months, my daughter still hums the “Thank you” song from time to time and is asking when Joe and his sock monkey Henrietta is coming back.

WHAT IS “THE GRATITUDE MUSIC TOUR FOR KIDS?”
The Gratitude Music Tour for Kids is a high energy, interactive musical program
which includes: sock monkeys, “acupressure tapping,” collaborative song creation, drawing and
oodles of gratitude. Joe Fred has developed a very fun and engaging way for children to
get excited about saying thank you and that alone should be a beautiful thing for all of
you parents out there.
In addition, children learn a simple technique for boosting the immune system which
involves “acupressure tapping.” To make it fun and easy, during the show, we focus on just one acupressure point, (nicknamed “the thymus point”), showcased on the picture below (sans skin
):
During the show, in a very fun and interactive way, the children are directed (by a sock monkey) to tap on the point with their fingers, to the beat of THE THANK YOU SONG. There is a beautiful story line to the show that is fun and engaging for everyone. After the kids have fun with the existing song, they then have the opportunity to create a new version of the song with Joe and Henrietta (AKA the sock monkey). In this part of the show, the children have time to think of something that they are grateful for in their lives and to draw a picture of it to incorporate in the new song. Then we all sing the new song together
Overall, the show lasts about 30 minutes, so it is a perfect fit for many different occasions
and venues including: libraries, children’s museums, schools, and birthday parties. Joe is also in the process of designing a THANK YOU SONG music video that kids can watch at home on the computer after the show…so that kids and parents can continue to “enjoy the goodness” beyond the live show.

- Joe Fred getting ready to hand out the paper plates so that the kids can draw pictures of the lyrics for their very own, newly composed version of “The Thank You Song”
- Children having fun decorating their paper plates
- Each child gets to choose the color of their happy button sticker. They are then directed where the thymus acupressure point is, so that they can properly place their sticker over it for easy tapping.
- After the children are done drawing something that they are grateful for on their paper plate, Joe gathers them in a circle, and begins playing the new version of the Thank You Song. Each child is given the opportunity to add a new lyric to the song by “singing what they drew” on their plate one at a time.
- Even the adults have fun joining in.
